Sant Angelo, 2001 - 2002
This installation, made during an artist's residency in Venice, Italy, is based on the recording of a historic conversation in the early 1960s between major figures involved with the Minimalist movement: Donald Judd, Frank Stella and Dan Flavin. The work consists of four parts: a fictional film scenario, a scale model 1:100 of the central location (a palace in Venice) that also functions as a spatial setting for a multi-media narration including slide projections, original sound fragments and a ten-minute video of the mooring and departing of the vaporetto's on the Grand Canal and two pieces of clothing on which the first and last names of the aforementioned artists in Sant Angelo are embroidered.
